The fourth edition of the "Carinthian" this year is again dealing with a current topic. As is well known, at the beginning of the year we asked the country's campaigning political parties about their position with regard to the home associations. In the second issue of the year, we gave the next generation of Carinthians a chance to speak, so they let us know, why they stay in the country. So it was about the urgent problem of emigration, the "brain drain" from the country. In the third edition of the "Kärntner" we have our annual commemoration for the victims of war, The focus is on tyranny and partisan terror.
And now, in the fourth edition of this year, is about Carinthia as a business location. Only the economy creates jobs. And home without the people here having the opportunity, to earn their daily bread, so to have work, there is not any. For this purpose, our Walter Tributsch, a renowned, business journalist, examined the current situation of Carinthia as a business location.
Bernhard Tomaschitz, as did a renowned journalist from Carinthia, has examined the historical development of Carinthia as a business location. And contributions from the Vice President of the Federal Chamber of Commerce, the mayor of Bad Kleinkirchheim, Matthew Krenn, and the former governor Gerhard Dörfler about the Koralmbahn complete the topic.
The infrastructure is also important for Carinthia as a business location, So the integration of the country into the large Austrian and European transport networks is of crucial importance. And the Koralmbahn with its extension, the Semmering Railway, finally brings a modern and efficient connection of Carinthia to the federal capital and the central European area, a project of the century, which would hardly have been realized without the initiative of the former governors Jörg Haider and Gerhard Dörfler.
Accordingly, the next scientific symposium of the Carinthian homeland service, that on 16. September of the year is to take place in the Europahaus in Klagenfurt, in addition to the processing of historical conflicts, the problems of Carinthia as a business location have as a topic. From our point of view, homeland service means not only being a traditional bearer of defensive struggles and referendums and not only representing the position of the German Carinthian majority population in the Carinthian borderland conflict, it also means, to face the current problems of the Carinthian homeland and the current challenges of today's society in the country.
In addition, of course, you will read reports about other associations in the current issue of our magazine, as usual, specifically about the activities of the Gottscheers and the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft. The legal dispute between the noble family of Liechtenstein and the Czech authorities should also be of interest in this context.
With this in mind, we wish all friends and supporters of the Carinthian home service a nice and peaceful summer and interesting reading with the "Carinthian". Stay with us and continue to support our work for our common Carinthian homeland.
