In the first autumn issue of “Kärntner” let's address the question, what the future of the home associations in the country could look like. That these associations of ours are the very own tradition bearers of the identity-forming events of recent Carinthian history, namely the defensive struggle and the referendum, is beyond question. We want this in the coming years too 9. October in the Klagenfurter Landhaushof at a large celebration of the local associations to commemorate the vote. (See event announcement and invitation inside the sheet)

However, upholding this tradition alone is not enough justification for the existence of our home associations. We also have a duty, to define service to the Carinthian homeland for our present and for the future. For this purpose, the KHD is once again organizing a scientific symposium this year, which this time is dedicated to the topic of “language skills in and around Carinthia”.. When, in addition to high-ranking scientists, Carinthian Governor Peter Kaiser and the new Carinthian EU representative Elisabeth Dieringer-Granza give lectures, this event should be of particular interest.

In addition, as an interested reader of the “Kärntner” you will, as always, find reports about the activities of the other homeland- and traditional associations.
